⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ I had a good experience at Mughlai Grill overall. I ordered the Murgh Makhani, Chicken Tikka Masala, and garlic naan. The garlic naan was definitely one of the highlights of the meal. It was light, fluffy, crispy, and absolutely delicious. The Murgh Makhani was served sizzling on a hot pan, which was a really nice presentation. The only downside was that the pepper and spices from the sizzling dish flew into the air, making it hard to breathe for a moment. The chicken was flavorful, although it was just a little dry. The Chicken Tikka Masala was tasty as well, but the portion was smaller than I expected, and the chicken was also a bit dry. Our server was very kind and gave us some great recommendations, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, and when we visited around noon it wasn't busy at all, making it a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy lunch. Overall, it's a solid spot for Indian food. The food isn’t anything spectacular but it’s decent. While I think the portions could be a little larger and the chicken a bit more tender, I still enjoyed the meal. Rich Flavors and Outstanding Mughlai Cuisine ★★★★★ Mughlai Grill is an absolute gem for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Indian food. The complex spices and rich marinades in every dish are executed to perfection. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is unbelievably creamy and tender, and the Garlic Naan comes out fresh, hot, and perfectly charred. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is attentive, polite, and eager to offer great menu recommendations. Easily one of my favorite spots for a cozy, deeply satisfying meal.

I come here all the time. Great food and usually the service is wonderful. I am leaving this review in hopes an owner or manager sees it. The gentleman that worked the lunch shift Sunday May 31 is incredibly rude and bad at his job. I say this as someone who works in the restaurant industry. It took 50 minutes for us to get 3 entrees. The restaurant was completely empty. We were in a rush so we put the whole order in before our friends arrived. They came, and it was still 30 minutes of waiting before we received our food. We ended up missing our movie because the guy refused to pack up the food for us. That’s $80 in tickets. We tried to cancel the order multiple times and he kept saying “it’s coming. We didn’t want to walk out without paying! But he wouldn’t let us cancel. Every time he saw me walking toward him to ask a question, he turned his back to me and went in the kitchen or bathroom. There was no “I apologize it’s taking so long”. Just dismissive and rude comments blaming us for ordering before our friends arrived. We ended up getting a 10% discount, 8 dollars. Worst service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The food itself was yummy, as usual.

Most AUTHENTIC and Best Cooked in the entire L.E.S The food is always Amazing and the customer service is wonderful. The Owner remembers all his customer’s name which makes everyone feel special. Always Beautiful and Peaceful eating inside. Highly Recommended!

The Pleasures of a Lived-In Room at Mughlai By Demetris Papadimitropoulos | Visited March 22nd, 2026 Mughlai offers one of those increasingly rare New York pleasures: a meal in a room that feels inhabited rather than staged. The restaurant is narrow and softly glowing, with candles, close-set tables, and an amber warmth that makes even a first visit feel slightly familiar. We ordered the Gobhi Manchurian, garlic naan, Mughlai poori, Mughlai Salmon Tikka, Nawabi Tikka, basmati rice, and lassis, and the table quickly took on that generous, celebratory look that improves an evening almost on sight. The Gobhi Manchurian gave the meal its first burst of energy, and the salmon and chicken tikka arrived on sizzling platters with just enough smoke and ceremony to feel festive rather than forced. The garlic naan did exactly what it should, but the Mughlai poori was the thing I’ll remember most – puffed, dramatic, and impossible not to tear into immediately. Mughlai Grill is my favorite Indian restaurant in the city, but haven’t been to Mughlai in two years, so I was curious if anything changed. We were walk-ins and although there were quite a few parties in the restaurant, we were able to be seated immediately. The staff were nice and attentive and gave us pretty good recommendations! To start we shared the Vegetable Pakora and oh my gosh it was so crispy and seasoned perfectly! That got us so excited for the rest of the food. For our entrees we ended up on Lamb, and the staff recommended the Achar Gosht and the Kadai Gosht. Both were so good! Lamb was tender, it was overall super filling and paired well with the aloo paratha! I can’t wait to eat my leftovers! Mughlai Grill is even better than I remember and I can’t wait to come back! I will be recommending it to everyone!

We can on a freezing night on Christmas Day - heading to a play at the Wild-Project. We had no expectation - just a warm room and decent food on a night on which most places were closed or felt uninviting. The staff was welcoming and friendly and very, very welcoming and accommodating. Food was great, regular starters were tasty and especially the crispy cauliflower, mains were great - including standards Tandoori mixed grill, saag aloo and chicken ticka masala. Grateful for this surprise find and - we’ll back!

The place is cute, quiet, you can feel the peace while being there. The food is delicious as well as the service. The owner is always there and he serve with kindness and hospitality. The mango also drink is delicious.
